Balancing a full-time job, raising three amazing children, running a business, and managing a household while my partner works away most weeks, is far from easy. But the rewards? They’re priceless
One of the greatest rewards is seeing my children look up to me. They see a strong, resilient, and hardworking mother, that alone makes every challenge worth it.
Another blessing is being able to comfortably provide for my family, even during a time when the cost of living has been more difficult than ever. I feel incredibly grateful that, through hard work and perseverance, we’re not just managing, we’re living well.
When I first invested in my business, I never planned to give up my full-time job. Why? Because I love what I do, sharing my knowledge and supporting our franchisees to grow their own successful businesses. I love sales, but it’s not what I want to do as a fulltime role. I needed more.
Balancing everyone’s needs took trial and error, countless early mornings and late nights, moments of doubt and emotional conversations with my partner, who supported my dream. With the right support, we found our rhythm and made it work.
I created a routine that works around my job, my family, and still leaves room for me. It wasn’t instant, it took resilience, sacrifices, and a lot of adjusting. But the main thing was, as hard as it was, I kept going. The easy thing would have been to say it can’t be done and give up.
In the first year, I put in the hard graft, early mornings before school drop off, late nights after the kid’s bedtime and giving up time on weekends. I’d be handling everything from sourcing quotes to creating and scheduling social media.
It was a constant cycle of planning, learning what worked best and adapting my approach, to grow the business.
There were tantrums, tears, and exhaustion and that wasn’t from the kids!
Looking back now, I’m proud. Of me, the brand and reputation I’ve built in my local community, running my business they way I want it to be run and that I’ve learnt how to multi skill, to enable me to squeeze in a client call while supporting the kids at football training, send a quote whilst enjoying lunch at the pub, or posting on social media, while on a walk.
Proud that I didn’t give up when it got hard. I set an example to my children, that dreams take hard work and effort, and that they should never be afraid to go after what they want.
