My role is to speak with people and help them understand the options available to them. There are so many different options available to someone wanting to work in the travel industry, and we’ll only be right for a certain percentage of people. So I spend most of my days getting to know people and goals, to understand whether The Holiday Franchise Company might be a good fit for them.
I worked in various roles before moving into travel, after taking a year long break around the world. My first travel role was for Trailfinders, where I started as a travel consultant in their Kensington store. I then worked in various other departments including training, where I taught people who were mainly new to the travel industry, how to sell holidays, and their bespoke itinerary team, putting together complex itineraries. I was then asked to become part of the management team for a new shop in Richmond, where I was responsible for the shop’s performance through my team of sales consultants.
New Zealand has to be up there as one of my favourite destinations, although I’d pick a different destination depending on my mood. For me, the countryside and wildlife in New Zealand makes it a great place to visit.
Costa Rica – for the wildlife. This has been top of my list for a while now. It’s one to the most biodiverse countries in the world, and has over 900 different bird species living in its rainforest.
Outside of work I run a small art business. I’m passionate about wildlife and this is the subject for most of my work, which spans from illustration and sculpture, to creative writing.
On top of this, we have 5 children, so let’s just say that no two days are the same!
