In my role at The Holiday Franchise Company, I support our franchisee network once they are live and trading.
A key part of this involves holding monthly one-to-one sessions known as “Hear To Helps”. These sessions provide a safe, supportive space for franchisees to discuss their business, explore opportunities for growth, and develop their skills as travel agents. Whether it’s sharing industry tips, offering practical advice, or simply catching up, these sessions are designed to connect the community we work within, especially important when working from home can sometimes feel isolating.
In addition, I regularly host training webinars with a range of suppliers. These sessions ensure our franchisees stay up to date with the latest products, tools, and destination knowledge, empowering them to confidently sell and grow their travel businesses.
I began my career in the travel industry at the age of 16, completing a Travel and Tourism qualification while gaining hands-on experience through a placement at Thomas Cook. This led to an apprenticeship, and over the next eight years, I developed into a dual consultant role, selling both holidays and foreign exchange services.
Following a career break spent travelling across Australia and Southeast Asia, I returned to the UK and stepped into management roles. I first led a foreign exchange bureau for American Express in Coventry, before becoming the Branch Manager at Kanoo Travel, a prestigious American Express franchise in Birmingham. There, I oversaw a dynamic operation encompassing Corporate Travel, Leisure Travel, and a high-volume Foreign Exchange service. I managed a team, cultivated strong relationships with high-profile corporate travel accounts, and continued to sell holidays to a loyal base of personal and business clients.
Currently, I serve as a Business Development Executive at The Holiday Franchise Company, where I leverage my extensive industry experience to support and mentor franchisees, helping them build and grow successful travel businesses.
I always find it difficult to choose a favourite destination because I truly enjoy every place I’ve been fortunate enough to visit. I’ve been lucky to travel extensively, and I never take those experiences for granted. That said, one place that holds a special place in my heart and that’s at the top of the list to revisit with my husband and son is Thailand, the Land of Smiles. I fell in love with everything about it: the vibrant street food, the warmth and hospitality of the people, the stunning beaches and islands, the rich culture and history, the wildlife, and even the buzzing nightlife. It offers something for everyone, and I have to admit I do love a cold Chang Beer while watching the sunset over the ocean!
The Galápagos Islands are high on my dream destination list. There’s something truly magical about a place so untouched and full of rare, unique wildlife you can’t find anywhere else in the world. I’d love the chance to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat, snorkel alongside sea lions and penguins, and explore volcanic landscapes that look like another planet.
It’s a destination that feels like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure raw, real, and deeply connected to nature. For me, it would be the ultimate escape and an unforgettable experience.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to my son Arthur and wife to my husband John. We also have a very special four-legged family member Tequila, our cheeky little Cockapoo who we rescued from a dogs’ home.
