Each week, I speak with hundreds of people about starting their own travel business. A common concern that comes up in these conversations is the unease many feel about the way they’re being approached by franchisors. People often express that they feel like “just a number,” as if their individual goals and concerns are being overlooked.
This is something I’ve been committed to changing since 2018.
Every franchisee who has joined us and even the thousands who haven’t, has had the chance to discuss their business plans with us in detail. We provide honest feedback, sometimes brutally so, to help them understand whether their business idea has the potential to succeed.
We’re not here to sugarcoat things, and as I’ve mentioned in several of our blog posts, we believe in being transparent and straightforward with everyone we speak to. You can read more about this approach here: Honest Advice from the Holiday Franchise Company.
One key step we insist on for anyone considering joining us is a business planning meeting. During this meeting, we forecast your first 12 months in business, discussing expected earnings based on the markets you’re interested in and, importantly, what you should budget for expenses. These forecasts are tailored to the type of travel business you want to run and are based on averages from our existing group.
Our commitment to transparency and accuracy was recognised when our membership with the British Franchise Association was upgraded. After comparing the forecasts we provided with the actual performance of our franchisees, they found that our forecasts were not only accurate but were often outperformed. This isn’t just a sales pitch, it’s an opportunity for you to make an informed decision about your future. To learn more about our business planning meetings, watch this short video.
